Ashton Darrett serves as Associate Dean for Student Support Services at Brown University. He assumed this role in 2021.
Since beginning his career in higher education in 2011, Ashton has contributed to a wide range of student-centered areas, including advising, career services, financial aid, admissions, community support, study abroad, and internship programming. Prior to joining Brown, Ashton was the Associate Director of Advising at the College of Saint Rose. His interests focus on mentoring students through holistic support and teaching. Mental health is his jam, and he aims to create a calming environment where students feel free to think and express themselves openly.
A proud Brooklyn native, Ashton is energized by fitness, anime, travel, poetry, the performing arts, philanthropy, and lifelong learning. Whether he's writing, working out, exploring a beach, or wandering a museum, Ashton brings curiosity and creativity to everything he does—and hopes to inspire the same in the students he supports.
